Is a fever of 104 degrees Fahrenheit dangerous?
By Forinfos - 11/03/2025 - 0 comments
According to All Children's Hospital, a fever between 100 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit is a normal range when someone is fighting an infection. When a fever rises above 102 F, fever-reducing medication is typically recommended to ease comfort.
When using medicine to treat a fever, the fever should come down by 2 or 3 degrees, according to All Children's Hospital. Once the body temperature reaches above 108 F, brain damage can occur. However, this temperature is never reached because of an infection or fever. High body temperatures needed to cause permanent damage occur only from environmental extremes, such as a child being trapped in a closed car during hot weather.
