How do you figure military time?

Military time does not use a.m. and p.m. designations. The numerical conventions of standard time are followed until the equivalent of 1 p.m. At that point, the 24-hour cycle continues, starting with 1300 and continuing to 2359.

Military time also does not use the customary colon that separates hours from minutes in standard time, and a letter designating the present time zone may be appended to the end. All digits are spoken out loud, including the leading zeros, and hours are spoken as "hundred." "Oh dark hundred" or "zero dark hundred" may be used as slang for midnight, but these are not formal terms.
