How do I figure out what kind of sound card I have?
By Forinfos - 04/05/2025 - 0 comments
Computer Hope recommends that Microsoft Windows users determine their model of sound card by accessing the Programs folder from the Start menu and then selecting the System Information folder. Within this folder, the "plus" icon next to Components shows the sound device when clicked.
Another method of determining the type of sound card is to manually open the computer case and check. Many sound cards display their manufacturer and model. If that method is unsuccessful, a user may locate the FCC identification number listed on the sound card and perform an inquiry using that number. It is recommended to replace the sound card rather than attempt to repair it.
