Queen Elizabeth II is the first member of the British royal family to ever be awarded a Gold Record in honor of achieving record sales of 100,000 or more. This isn't a sign that the queen has taken up a new hobby; rather, this gold record reflects sales of an album that recorded a concert held in her honor.
This album, entitled "Party at the Palace," was recorded during her Golden Jubilee in 2002. Featured artists include Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ricky Martin, Ozzy Osbourne, Shirley Bassey, Dame Edna Everage, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart and Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls.
