Use iTunes to help repair an iPhone stuck in an endless recovery loop. You only need a Mac computer with iTunes installed, an iPhone and a micro-USB charging cable to complete the process.
- Connect the cable
Plug the micro USB charging cable into a USB port on your computer. Do not connect the opposite end to the iPhone.
- Turn off the iPhone
Press and hold the power button to turn off the iPhone. Wait until the screen goes dark before continuing.
- Plug in the iPhone
Press the Home button on the face of the iPhone. Next, plug the opposite end of the cable into the iPhone dock connector.
- Activate iTunes
Wait for the iPhone to turn on, and continue to press the Home button until iTunes appears on the screen. iTunes displays a message on the screen if the iPhone is stuck in recovery mode.
- Restore the iPhone
Look for the Restore button in iTunes, and click it to start the recovery process. Wait for the on-screen prompts to restore your device. Follow the instructions on the screen to recover the iPhone. Enter your Apple ID and password, and select your device from the list. Continue following the instructions until your iPhone is restored.
