What is the flag retreat ceremony in the Magic Kingdom?

The Magic Kingdom sections of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World hold a daily flag retreat ceremony in which the American flag is ceremoniously lowered and folded for storage before the park closes. Members of the park's security team and a park guest perform the ceremony, which is intended to be a display of patriotism and respect for the United States Armed Forces.

The ceremony takes about 15 minutes and occurs around 5:00 PM. Typically, live music with a patriotic theme played by a brass band provides an accompaniment to the ceremony, which is a regular occurrence that park guests can watch and enjoy.
