What are a flamingo's natural predators?

Adult flamingos are hunted and eaten by animals such as lions, cheetahs and tigers as well as by hyenas and jackals. However, the large size of these birds keep them relatively safe in their environment.

Baby flamingos and flamingo eggs are often eaten by storks and vultures if not well protected by the adults in the flock. Generally, both flamingo parents take an active role in protecting their babies, so predatory birds often have a hard time finding a vulnerable baby flamingo to eat.

Occasionally, animals such as foxes, bobcats and coyotes will hunt small, sick or weak flamingos. Humans are one of the flamingos' most deadly predators.
