What is the Florida DMV?

The Florida DMV is the state's Department of Motor Vehicles, according to the Florida's Department of Motor Vehicles. The Florida DMV provides services for residents such as car registration, license plate renewals, driver's license tests, learner's permit information and traffic school sessions.

The Florida DMV also offers driver's testing, motorcycle licenses and referrals for automotive assistance, such as auto insurance companies, local traffic schools, vehicle history reports and defensive driving courses, according to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.

Residents can also process changes of address on a driver's license and driver's license renewals at a local DMV office or online at the Florida DMV website.
