When are food stamps usually distributed?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, spreads its distribution of monthly benefits over the course of the first two weeks of the month, as of 2015. However, each state carries a different schedule of when benefits are given.
The majority of states distribute the benefits over the course of the first 10 days of the month. The receipt of these benefits is dependent on the last digit of the client's case number. While the majority of states distribute their benefits by the 10th of the month, some spread their distribution across a wider range of dates. Texas delivers from the 1st to the 15th of the month, and Illinois delivers from the 1st to the 20th of the month.
