A tigger melon is a melon native to Armenia. This farmer's market melon is not widely known in the United States. Because it is not commercially grown, the tigger melon is somewhat rare and difficult to find. It thrives in warm growing regions such as the Mediterranean.
The outside of a tigger melon is striped like a tiger, hence, the name tigger melon. Its white flesh is mild and sweet. It can be eaten by itself as a fruit or cooked in meals. Tigger melons are small and fragrant. Most of them weigh less than 1 pound when fully grown.
