There is no credible medical information available on which foods are bad for sufferers of tinnitus. Cutting back on caffeine beverages and alcohol may help reduce symptoms of constant ringing in the ears, according to WebMD. Mayo Clinic advises limiting alcohol, which increases blood flow to the inner ear.
Caffeine-containing beverages may help exacerbate the buzzing and hissing noises in the ear that lack external stimuli, notes Mayo Clinic. However, some research suggests women who drink more coffee suffer less from tinnitus, says Drugs.com. As of September 2015, there is no evidence supporting a direct relationship between caffeine intake and tinnitus.
