What forms of ID are required with a basic job application?

For a basic application, identification to prove the person's identity and their ability to work in the United States are required. These often include a driver's license and Social Security card, though other documents and IDs are accepted.
Some options to prove identity aside from a driver's license include a government-issued identification card, a school ID card with a photograph, a military ID, a voter's registration card or a Native American tribal document. The Social Security card helps to prove employment authorization for people who are U.S. citizens. Another form of identification for authorization is a birth certificate from the United States.
