What forms are needed for a credit reference?

Those requesting credit references must compile a letter for the creditor to fill out that includes the present balance, payment history and the length of time the account was open, according to At Your Business. Some lenders have a specific in-house form that is sent directly to the creditor.
An in-house form includes blanks for the creditor to provide the financial information about the client, explains the Wisconsin Credit Association. Borrowers who do not send letters or forms to creditors directly must provide lenders with permission to request a credit reference. Letters or forms sent directly from the lender include the name or identifying account numbers of the creditor.
