What is a Gateway 2Wire router used for?
By Forinfos - 23/06/2025 - 0 comments
The Gateway 2Wire router is used as a VoIP phone gateway, internet modem and network router. It serves as the nucleus of the internet and phone service in a building. These routers are given out by broadband service providers, such as AT&T, Qwest and Embarq.
Once the Gateway 2Wire router is installed, it starts using a default network name of 2WIRE and the last three numbers of the gateway's serial number. The Gateway 2Wire router comes with Wi-Fi security already enabled. Outsiders are unable to gain access to or eavesdrop on private networks because the router comes equipped with Wi-Fi Protected Access PSK encryption.
