When was the GE Profile refrigerator recalled?

On November 7, 2006, GE issued a letter to repair technicians concerning the recall of the main circuit board in the Profile refrigerator due to "lower than anticipated life expectancy." A recall was not issued for the refrigerator itself, however.

Customers who owned one of the model numbers included in the recall could opt to have the part replaced at no charge. All of the affected models were manufactured between May 2005 and August 2006. They were also side-by-side, French door and bottom-freezer styles. No time limitation was placed on the free replacement at the time the recall was issued.
