What is Air Miles?

Air Miles is a Canadian customer rewards program that allows cardholders to collect points and cash them in for items such as travel tickets, consumer goods and movie tickets. Air Miles membership is free, and cardholders can collect points at a variety of participating retailers.

Although values can vary between retailers, it takes around $20 CAD to earn one Air Mile point, according to the Ottawa Business Journal. Air Miles Cardholders can also redeem their points for cash at participating stores. Some retailers also allow cardholders to redeem points online. Cardholders can redeem 95 points for $10 CAD off at the register.

Air Miles has operated in Canada since 1992. It is a subsidiary of LoyaltyOne, which is owned by a Texas-based parent company called Alliance Data Systems.
