Where is Buenos Aires?

The capital city Buenos Aires is located along the eastern coast of Argentina. With an estimated 3 million residents, it is the largest city in Argentina.

Argentina's name translates to "land of silver." Argentina was first settled by the Spanish in 1516. Argentina covers roughly 1.1 million square miles and is the second-largest country of South America. Bordering countries are Chile to the west, Bolivia and Paraguay to the north, Brazil to the northeast and Uruguay to the east. The Andes Mountains stretch across much of the western border of Argentina, while the South Atlantic Ocean lies to the east.
