Where is the Giant's Causeway?
By Forinfos - 27/05/2026 - 0 comments
Located on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, the Giant's Causeway is a natural formation that consists of an extremely regular and geometric series of basalt columns. The regularity of size and shape with which these columns were formed give the area an unusual appearance that makes it particularly interesting as a natural site.
UNESCO named the Giant's Causeway as a World Heritage Site in the 1980s in recognition of the unique beauty of this part of the world, as well as the site's geological significance. Considered one of the greatest natural sites in the United Kingdom, the Giant's Causeway was formed millions of years ago by volcanic activity.
