Shark Reef Aquarium is located in Mandalay Bay at 3950 Las Vegas Boulevard South, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is owned and operated by the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Unlike most aquariums, Shark Reef is situated within a desert.

Shark Reef Aquarium is a public aquarium and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. As of 2015, it is one of the largest aquariums in North America, holding almost 1.6 million gallons of water. It houses over 2,000 animals, including fish, reptiles, rays and marine invertebrates, as well as 15 species of sharks. Shark Reef Aquarium first opened in 2000.
