What is the giant panda's predator?

Due to their unique habitat and large size, giant pandas have no predators in their natural environment. Human poaching and habitat loss pose the biggest threats to giant pandas, leading to their classification as an endangered species.

Pandas are native to remote mountainous regions of China at elevations from 5,000 to 13,000 feet. Growing larger than 5 feet and up to 300 pounds in size, they are known for their insatiable appetite for bamboo, which makes up 99 percent of their diet. Skilled tree climbers and great swimmers, pandas are frequently observed in a relaxed sitting posture, where they spend up to 12 hours daily eating.
