What is giclée?

Giclée is a French term that means to spray or to squirt. In a giclée print, no mechanical devices are used that create a visible dot screen pattern, thereby creating a print that is similar to the original.
Giclée printers use special inks that remain intact with no change for up to 25 years. The image is scanned on a drum scanner and can be produced on any paper or canvas. Canvas prints are the most durable when it comes to creating a giclée. Once the original has been scanned, it's possible to print as many giclée prints as desired.
