According to U.S National Library of Medicine, Ginkgo is an herb used to make extracts for medicinal purposes. It can be used for various ailments and diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, hearing loss and vertigo.
Ginkgo trees are among the longest living species of trees in the world and can live up to one thousand years. The leaves of this tree have been used as a medicinal herb as far back as 2600 B.C. Ginkgo has been rated as possibly effective for ailments such as anxiety, schizophrenia, PMS and glaucoma by the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database. The herb seems to improve blood circulation, which can aid functioning in the brain, ears, eyes and legs.
