How do gnats get inside my home?
By Forinfos - 30/06/2025 - 0 comments
Gnats may enter homes through windows and doors that are near moist outdoor areas, such as wet mulch, says University of Missouri Extension. Commonly referred to as fruit flies, gnats are attracted to light and fungus caused by moisture in soil and overripe fruits and vegetables, notes HowStuffWorks.
Once gnats are inside of a home, trash that contains rotting food, over-watered potted plants, and overripe fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, peaches and potatoes, can cause a gnat infestation. Keep fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator, empty the trash regularly and drain excess water from indoor plants to prevent an infestation, advises HowStuffWorks.
