What are some good books for a 4th grade child?

"The Cricket in Times Square," "Crickwing" and "The Misadventures of Maude March" are good books for fourth graders. "The Cricket in Times Square" is a story of friendship and follows the adventures of a lonely boy who finds a cricket in a New York subway and decides to keep it.

"Crickwing" is an adventure story about a cockroach who is a food sculptor. He is bullied by other animals because he has a twisted wing. His creativity saves him in the end. "The Misadventures of Maude March" is historical fiction set in the Wild West. It is about two orphan sisters who escape their caretakers and become outlaws.
