What is a good cleaner for silver jewelry?

A concoction of hot water, baking soda and dish soap with a piece of tin foil at the bottom is one of the easiest cleaners for silver jewelry. This mixture is gentle on silver and cheap to produce.
Only baking soda, hot water and tin foil is needed, but a little added salt and dish detergent are also useful in cleaning up tarnished silver. Mix up the ingredients and soak the jewelry for five to ten minutes. Dry thoroughly with a non-abrasive cloth.
The piece of foil at the bottom is important, as it pulls the oxidation from the jewelry to the tin.
