What is a good design for a hog trap?

There are three basic designs of hog traps: a box trap, a cage trap and a corral trap. The designs that works best depends on budget, portability and how many hogs need to be trapped. Corral traps offer the best design for trapping multiple hogs.

Box traps are inexpensive and the most common design of hog trap. They are made of wood and can often be constructed at home. A box trap's disadvantages include a heavy weight and the capacity for only trapping one hog. Cage traps are constructed of heavy wire, which appears less threatening to the animal than wood.
