A good PCAT score depends on the school and the candidate's overall competitiveness, but a PCAT score of 430 is roughly in the 90th percentile and is fairly competitive.
Pharmacy schools consider the PCAT when deciding whether to offer an acceptance, along with pharmacy experience, GPA and extracurricular activities. The PCAT has seven sections that cover six topics: biology, verbal comprehension, quantitative analysis, inorganic and organic chemistry, reading comprehension, and writing ability. Experimental items that do not count towards the final score are also included. The PCAT requires having taken introductory and organic chemistry in college as well as introductory college biology.
