The top five states that have two or more listings include Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky and Arizona.

Forbes focused on cost of living, climate and crime rate when selecting the best places to retire in the United States. The top five selections include warm to moderate climates and reasonable general state taxes for retirees. Forbes also calculated the number of doctors per capita to ensure its top selections included supreme health care accessibility.
