Does and aircraft carrier have air conditioning?

An aircraft carrier does not typically have central air conditioning. It is normal for aircraft carriers to have air conditioning in rooms with electronics to keep them from overheating.

Typically, rooms with computers and electronic systems are known for over-air conditioning, and those who work in these spaces are encouraged to wear jackets or sweaters. However, the USS Gerald R. Ford has more of its rooms air conditioned to make the ship more efficient, reducing maintenance requirements for equipment and electronic systems. It is possible that more aircraft carriers will be fully air conditioned in the future, but for now, personnel are issued weather-appropriate uniforms.
