Do grubs turn into June bugs?

Some grubs do grow into June beetles. June beetle larvae are known as white grubs; during this stage of development, the grub lives under the soil and eats a wide variety of plants, including grasses, corn, small grains, potatoes and strawberries.

As an adult, the June beetle is a heavy-bodied insect that grows between 0.5 and 1 inch in length. June beetles live in the northern hemisphere and emerge on warm spring or summer evenings to feed on foliage. As a destructive species, the June beetle can cause sizable damage to crops and gardens. The body of the June beetle is reddish brown with iridescent wing covers.
