Where are H&M clothes made?

As of 2014, Hennes & Mauritz AB outsources production to about 900 suppliers, 80 percent of whom are in Asia and the rest in Europe and Africa. The designs are created in Sweden.

Generally, trend-led items with short lead times are made in Europe, while traditional items with long lead times are made in Asia. H&M has made public the names and addresses of its suppliers on its website. These suppliers are responsible for sourcing fabrics and other components needed to make the clothes. All supplier factories are audited by H&M to ensure that they meet the company’s code of conduct, which covers environmental and social issues.
