Roses do best in most habitats and can be found on all continents except for Antarctica. They are most prominent in North America, Asia and Europe.
There are more than 2,000 species of roses around the world, with each requiring a specific habitat to spur the best growth patterns. Some genres of roses prefer to live in cooler temperatures with high winds, which helps to keep insects at bay. There are species of the rose that can survive in acidic soils. Other roses like shrub and tea roses have adapted to human culture and can grow in most situations without any issues.
Because of the variety of locations where roses can survive, they are known as a resilient plant species.
