How do you handle Ford Securilock problems?

Those experiencing Ford Securilock problems can reset the system using their remote using a four-step process. After doing so, they can attempt to reprogram the system.

To reset using the remote, drivers must switch ignition from OFF to RUN a total of eight times within 10 seconds. The door locks will cycle. Next, press any button on the first keyless remote within 20 seconds of the first step. The locks will cycle again. Within 20 seconds of the second step, press any button on the second keyless remote. The locks will cycle once more. Finally, turn the ignition OFF, and the locks will cycle a final time.
