Crobar Chicago closed for business on April 17, 2010 after 19 years in operation. It later reopened in June, 2011 under the name Fifteen43 in an effort to rebrand the Crobar image.
Crobar originally opened in 1992, with its flagship operation located in Chicago. It was one in a chain of Crobar nightclubs, which were also located in New York City, Miami and Buenos Aires. The club became renowned for the numerous famous clientele who visited, including Dennis Rodman, Billy Corgan, Jeremy Piven and Carmen Electra. It was noted for its loud brand of house and trance music, hosted by well-known DJs, such as Timo Maas, Joe Gauthreaux and Frankie Knuckles.
