What happened to Jell-O Pudding Pops?

Jell-O Pudding Pops were discontinued in the 1980s with virtually no warning or explanation from Jell-O parent company Kraft. The treat is oftenfeatured in the media as a consumer favorite.

Though a version of pudding pops made by Popcicle re-emerged in 2004, it has not been nearly as popular or successful as the original produced by Jell-O. Pudding pops were a popular snack in the 1980s and when they disappeared without any warning, consumers were disappointed. Although Jell-O no longer commercially produces pudding pops, which came in chocolate, vanilla and swirl, its website does feature several recipes to satisfy cravings for the treat.
