If a court judgment is not paid ,the debtor can start collection proceedings. The debtor can file collection proceedings if payment is not made within 30 days.
One form of collection is through wage garnishment. This is ordered through the courts and can be utilized until the debt is paid.
In some cases where large judgments are owed, property can be seized. Property that can be seized includes real estate and a variety of vehicles.
Those who owe judgment's and fail to pay also risk having their drivers license suspended. Professional licenses can also be suspended in some states.
Payment plans are available for judgments to make the payment process more practical.
