What is the difference between heterogeneous and homogeneous?
By Forinfos - 06/06/2025 - 0 comments
A homogeneous mixture is one where all the components are uniformly distributed and a heterogeneous mixture is one where the components have localized regions with different properties. The difference simply lies in how materials are mixed together.
In a heterogeneous mixture, the components are varied and can even consist of a solid and liquid. Examples of a heterogeneous mixture include oil and vinegar or dietary fiber mixed with water.
When a mixture is the same throughout, it is called a homogeneous mixture. Another name for a homogeneous mixture is a solution. Salt water is a good example of a homogeneous mixture.
