As of 2015, the highest bridge in the world is the Sidu River Bridge in Badong County, Hubei, China, which stands 1,627 feet at its highest point. Other very high bridges include the Hegigio Gorge Pipeline Bridge in Paupau New Guinea and the Baluarte Bridge in Durango, Mexico.
The Hegigio Gorge Pipeline Bridge stands 1,289 feet high and was the world's highest bridge prior to the completion of the Sidu River Bridge in 2009. Of the 10 highest bridges in the world, six are located in China. The highest bridge in the United States is the Royal Gorge Bridge in Canyon City, Colorado, which is 955 feet high.
