The highest scorers in La Liga soccer league are Lionel Messi, Telmo Zarra, Hugo Sanchez and Cristiano Ronaldo as of 2015. Messi is Argentinian-born and has scored over 280 goals. Messi has also ranked three times in the top 10 for most La Liga goals in a season.

Telmo Zarra is the second-highest goal scorer behind Lionel Messi, and has scored over 250 goals. Hugo Sanchez is from Mexico and is the only player to have finished as the top scorer in La Liga for four seasons in a row. Cristiano Ronaldo has the fourth-most goals in La Liga history with more than 230 goals as of 2015. Ronaldo is also Real Madrid's leading goal-scorer.
