The Garmin nuvi 3597LMTHD, Garmin nuvi 55, and TomTom VIA 1605TM all have editors' rankings of four out of five, according to PCMag.com. The Garmin nuvi 2597LMT and Magellan RoadMate 6230-LM DashCam Navigator both have editors' rankings of 3.5 out of five.

Garmin released the top-ranked nuvi 3597LMTHD in 2013, and it retails for $350, as of 2015. Its 5-inch display screen features a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels. The device features a magnetic mount and multi-touch display surface along with improved voice prompts compared to previous models. The purchase of a Garmin GPS device includes free lifetime map and traffic updates.
