Stadler, Honeywell, Heat Surge and Dyson were highly rated by Consumer Reports. Vornado and Lasko each had four space heaters that made the Good Housekeeping’s 14 best list. They also had three of the top seven best space heaters by Consumer Search.

There are two basic types of space heaters, ceramic space heaters and forced-air space heaters. Consumer Search rated two Vornado models as the best forced-air space heaters. Lasko had the two best reviewed ceramic space heaters. A third type, the infrared space heater, heats up people and objects in the room rather than heating the air. The Honeywell HZ-980 was the best reviewed infrared space heater.
