The Geneva Watch Group is a Swiss luxury watch company that has been offering analog and digital watches and clocks since 1894. The company was previously referred to as "Universal Watch." It also manufactured the very first chronographic watch in 1917.
Ulysse Perret co-founded the company and moved it to Geneva in 1919. Its pocket watches were considered some of the finest in the 1800s. The company created a plethora of notable timepieces in the 20th century. It introduced the Compur in 1933 after pocket watches lost their usefulness in World War I. The Polerouter was the most popular Universal watch of the 1950s.
