What are some craft ideas from wooden pallets?

A vertical garden and console table are some craft ideas made from wooden pallets. Both design projects are on the Country Living website, including pictures of the finished product.

For the vertical garden, reinforce the pallet slats and nail 1"-by-4"s to the shelves. Also nail a 2"-by-4" to the bottom for support, and then paint the pallet. Attach black gardening plastic to the back and bottom of the shelves, using a staple gun. To finish, stencil a gardening quote on the front of the pallet.

For the console table, paint the pallet with sky blue chalk paint and top it with a maple-stained board. Secure the whole piece to an empty wall, creating a country-chic console table.
