How do you get past Snorlax on Pokemon FireRed version?

To get past the huge sleeping Snorlax on Pokemon FireRed, the player needs to have the Poke Flute item to wake up the Pokemon, then the player must capture or defeat the Snorlax to proceed to Saffron City. The Snorlax will be encountered on Pokemon FireRed in Celadon City after battling with three Team Rocket members at the Pokemon Tower and two more couples on Route 16.

After defeating the three Team Rocket members, the player will meet an old man named Mr. Fuji. The player will be transported by Mr. Fuji to his house where he will give the player the item "Poke Flute," which will be needed to wake up the sleeping Snorlax. Pressing "A" activates the flute.
