Who should read a eulogy at a funeral?

Family members, friends and clergy most often deliver eulogies. For highly religious funerals, the clergy is usually the person who delivers the eulogy. Directors of funeral homes also conduct some funerals, and these individuals may deliver a eulogy.
For people who plan their funerals while they are still alive, it can be a good idea to talk to potential eulogists. Delivering a eulogy is a highly emotional experience, and many people may feel too overwhelmed by it to do a good job. The number of eulogies is up to the person planning the funeral and usually depends on how long he wants the service to last.
