What is a Craftsman belt diagram used for?

A belt diagram enables users to route the mower deck belt correctly when performing maintenance or repairs on a Craftsman riding lawnmower. The belt wraps around several pulleys to drive the mower, as well as the blades, and must be routed correctly for the mower to function properly.

Replacing a broken or damaged belt requires removal of the mower deck. Before removing the mower's deck, the user should always make sure that the mower is parked on a level spot, with the mower deck fully lowered and disengaged. After allowing the engine to cool and disconnecting the spark plug, the user can safely remove the deck and replace the belt as the diagram indicates.
