How do you harvest oregano?

To harvest oregano, cut the sprigs when the plant is 4 to 5 inches in height, then cut the stems down to soil level. You need a small pruner.

1. Cut the sprigs when the plant reaches 4 to 5 inches

   Wait for the plant to grow to a height of 4 to 5 inches initially, and then use a pruner to cut stray sprigs. Save the sprigs for use in dishes.

2. Strip the rest of the leaves

   Hold the top of the stem between your thumb and index finger, and slide your fingers down to the bottom to strip the rest of the leaves.

3. Cut the stem to soil level

   To encourage a fuller plant, cut the stem down to soil level before allowing the plant to grow fully.
