To remove black marks from porcelain sink, clean the sink by scrubbing it with dish soap and water. Next spray the sink with a bleach solution or cleaning product, let the solution rest, and scrub the sink again with a sponge. Use fingernail polish remover on tough spots.
- Gather materials
Collect the materials needed for the project: a tough sponge, warm water, dish soap, bleach in a spray bottle, fingernail polish remover and paper towels.
- Clean sink with dish soap and rinse
Scrub the inside of the sink using dish soap and about a cup of warm water. Use vigorous strokes, and apply pressure. Once the sink has been thoroughly scrubbed, rinse the sink out, and let it air dry or dry with paper towels.
- Spray bleach solution
Generously mist the inside of the sink with bleach, and let it sit for 5 minutes. After waiting, mist the sink again, and scrub it with the rough side of a sponge. Be careful not to use a metal pad to scrub the porcelain sink, as it may scratch the surface. After you have scrubbed, rinse the sink out. If the sink is clean and no spots remain, you can stop here; if not, proceed to the next step.
- Eliminate stains with fingernail polish remover
Scrub any remaining black spots with fingernail polish remover and a rough sponge to eliminate any lingering stains and leave the sink in pristine shape.
