What is a homemade cleaner for marble?

Marble can be cleaned with a highly diluted mixture of water and ammonia, or water and dish soap. Do not use more than 1/2 cup of ammonia or dish soap per bucket of water. Avoid acidic cleaners such as vinegar that may cause scratches or dullness on marble surfaces.

After cleaning a marble surface, dry it as completely as possible using a soft cloth or similar material. Water that is left sitting on marble for too long may penetrate its surface and cause staining due to the marble's porosity. After cleaning marble, buff with a soft cloth. Be sure to use only pH-neutral cleaning solutions for marble.
