Homer Laughlin Georgian china is a style of lightweight china made of clay finished with an ivory glaze. First appearing in 1933, two styles of Georgian china were made: Georgian Ivory and Georgian Eggshell.
The first pieces of Georgian china were fired in January 1934, but by 1940, all types of Georgian china were constructed from the lightweight clay formerly used only in the eggshell design. Georgian Eggshell china was produced into the 1950s, with several designs available.
Homer Laughlin has been designing fine china since 1871, when it was founded as Laughlin Pottery in East Liverpool, Ohio. Fiesta dinnerware is one of the lines produced by Homer Laughlin, first appearing in 1936.
